Despite the fact that so many scholars around the world dealing with the history of ancient Laconia, our knowledge on other aspects of life of the ancient inhabitants of the region (except for their military training and known battles) is limited, mainly because of the great difficulties created by modern constructions and life activity. However, Sparta, before was transformed into the widely known “military” state of the Classical era, presented in the 7th century BC, an intense cultural development. The wars against Messenians have ended in complete subordination of the latter, and Sparta could now enjoy the fruits of her victories, to engage in works of peace, commerce and arts.
