New discoveries in Grammatiko Attika

Ancient artefacts have been brought to light during the initial construction work for the manufacture of HYTA (space of sanitary burial) in Grammatikos, Attika, and in particular in a very small depth — hardly 20 cm from the surface of the ground. They have been located three days ago via a construction work in the place called "Black Mountain", which was stopped immediately in the particular region until an archaeological survey will be first contacted and finalized. Concretely have been revealed two vertical between them walls (the one has width of 0,80 m.) that shape the space of a building. Also was found ceramics of later antiquity that determines chronologically the discovery. Unknown however it is the space that the ancient structure occupies, as well as, if it is exists artefacts of earlier date. All these questions remain to be answered by the final report, as stated yesterday by the head of II Ephorate of Antiquities, Ms Gianna Drakotou. With regard to the HYTA, the work is continued in two sides of the construction area, far enough from the located antiquities.
