Tomorrow opens the permanent collection of Cypriot antiquities at the National Archaeological Museum of Athens


One hundred and thirty years after the first Cypriot artefact’s acquisition by the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, will be available in a new special room on the first floor of the museum, which will be displayed permanently antiquities from Cyprus. The opening will start with the presence of the Minister of Culture Mr Antones Samaras (12:00 am).

The opening of the hall, which is donated by the A.G. Leventis Foundation and is under the scientific supervision of Professor B. Karagiorgi, in cooperation with the National Archaeological Museum, will be also present the presidents of Cyprus and Greece, Dimitris Christofias and Karolos Papoulias.

The exhibition presents 180 of the approximately 850 works of Cypriot Antiquities Collection of the National Archaeological Museum.
