Management of Monuments: Archeology, Architecture and City


The Department of History and Archeology at the University of Athens, in cooperation with the Department of Architecture, University of Patras and the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication, Aegean University, organized for the academic year 2008-2009 and interdisciplinary postgraduate program entitled Management of Monuments: Archeology, Architecture and City.

The program will be operated during the spring semester of the academic year 2008-2009.

The purpose of the program is the specialization of graduate students, from the scientific areas of archeology, architecture and cultural technology in addressing issues of planning, intervention and management of archaeological and historical site which are loaded with historical value in villages and communities. The study seeks to deepen the parallel investigation of common problems of archeology and architecture.

Coordination and logistics of the program will be provided by the Department of History and Archeology, of University of Athens. The courses will be held in Athens and design studies in Athens, Patras, Mytilene, Naxos and other centers in the need of such research.
